K: Brent, I think you ought to put the WSAG back on at 10 tomorrow.
S: I have.
K: Have you had a chance to tal 1k to Dinnitz?
S: I have talked to him and he assures me they understand what a crucial
role you play and I said it looked to me from reading Peter Rodman's
notes. and he said I can assure you that's not the way I feel and
I will talk to the Prime Minister again.
K: That's not the point. It is what they are up against here.
S: I know. I told him that. I said when you get down to where decisions
are made you will be up against. a difficult situation and you have been
put there by one individual. He said he knows that. I said it doesn't
look like that. He assured me he would talk it over with the Prime
Minister.
K: Good. I have to talk with you about how to conduct yourself while
I am gone. I am sure the Russians will try something. . to get hold
of the President. It is essential they don't get anything I didn't give
them.
S: I agree, right.
