THE PRESIDENT HAS SEEN THE WHITE HOUSE WASHINGTON YOUNG REPUBLICAN LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE Shoreham Hotel Thursday - February 28, 1974 9:50 A.M. BACKGROUND: The 1974 Young Republican Leadership Conference is a four-day program designed for those Young Republicans who want to develop strong and effective Republican organizations and those interested in proven campaign management techniques. The Conference will provide in-depth analyses of domestic and foreign policy issues, which will be discussed in general sessions, seminars, and during special addresses by such luminaries as the Vice President, Senator Thurmond, Senator Buckley, Senator Goldwater, Senator Baker, Senator McClure and Chairman Bush. It is expected that approximately 500 members of the Young Republican National Federation will be attending the 1974 Leadership Conference. Since Wednesday, the first day of the Conference, is essentially an informal registration day, your Thursday remarks to the Conference will be tantamount to opening the four-day event. Your remarks will be delivered in the Ambassador Room, a smaller room adjacent to the larger Regency Ballroom where you have spoken to larger groups. SCHEDULE 9:50 a. m. You and Mrs. Nixon board motorcade and depart en route Shoreham Hotel. 10:00 a. m. Arrive Shoreham Hotel where you will be greeted by Mr. George Bush, Chairman, RNC. You, Mrs. Nixon and Chairman Bush proceed to holding area to await announcement.
