Attention Mr. Josiah Stryker
Gentlemen:
Re: Grace Bryor VS. U. S. Radium Corporation
To have chediced our records regalding Grace Fryer, and find that the
last date of hor employment was Harch 19th,1920.
Since my discussion with Nr. Broadhurst of Collins and Corbin,
Attorneys for the Aetna Life Insurance Co., we have discovered some very inter-
esting data regarding this Girl, which may change the complexion of our dofence
somewhat.
Dr. Cecil K. Drinker saw this case or at least discussed it with
the attending physicians when he made the survey of our plant in May 1924.
You have a copy of Doctor Drinkerts report, but we quote from his report as
follows:
"Case V. - lits Grace Fryor, employed four and one-half years ago,
had a left lowor molar extracted one yoar ago. The wound apparently
healed normally. Six months later a sinus appeared at the site
of extracted molar and drained pus profusely for some months.
X-Rays taken at the Reconstruction Hospital, Now York City, on Harch
3,1924, showed evidence of a chronic infectious process in the jam
in the region of the extracted tooth. This patient left the hos-
pital five days leter unrelieved and with a diamosis of chronic
osteomyolitie of the Jaw, possibly due to phosphorus poisoning.
She is, however, now reported by Dr. NcCaffroy, Dr. Harry Dunning's
Assistant, to have recovered satisfactorily. (Dr. Harry Dunning
33 Rast 68th Street, New York City.)
This would seem to show that Viss Tryor was not in a serious condition at that
time, and also that Doctor NeCaffrey considered that the case was well in hand
We have also discovered that Doetor Frod. B. Flinn,of the Physicians
and Surgeons College of Columbia Univorsity, made both a phissical and an
electroscopic emmination of this Oirl on July 9th,1926. Dr. Flinn says she
looked splendidly and her blood count was good at that time, althowh the
electroscopic test showed a small trace of radio-activity, andamount not in
excess of 20 micrograms in hor entire body. Dr. Flinn also says that he sam
