UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA SCHOOL OF CHEMISTRY MINNEAPOLIS OFFICES OF THE DEAN January 14, 1935. AND THE DIRECTOR Mr. H. H. Barker, Vice President, United States Radium Corporation, 535 Pearl Street, New York, N. Y. Dear Barker: I have your letter of January 11 and am glad to learn that the rest of the court proceedings went off to your satisfaction. I am much interested by your statement that Mr. Emmerglick devoted most of your cross-examination to the article on the #Solubility of Radium Sulphate". When you have time, please drop me a line as I would like to know what the points were that he tried to make if it seems of sufficient importance to you. I still have plenty reprints of that paper if you should ever want any for any purpose. I have been considering whether I should not try to obtain some 100% radium salt and redetermine the solubility of 100% sulphate, bearing in mind the methods and criticisms which have come from Otto Hahn's Laboratory in recent years. The Radium Belge Company now has on hand some very high grade chloride prepared by Hoenigschnid which they are selling at $50 per milli- gram to replace the present international radium standards. Probably they would let me have a few milligrams at the same price. If you have any different suggestion, I would welcome it. With best regard to yourself and Mr. Lea, Sincerely yours, le. hind S. C. Lind, SCL:IL Director. JAN 16 1935
