Between the road and pavement, towards the left, are two trees, one behind the other. Near them is the sign of an Inn. Beneath this sign are two carts, standing deep in water which has overflowed the road. A sailing barge lies athwart the road, and the mast of a second barge rises beyond a ledge which separates the flooded Mall tail from the Thames. There le an irregular gap in the foliage on the left side of the tree, extending from about 26 to 35 mm. from the left side of the plate; also a smaller gap, the centre of which is 5 mm. below the top of the plate and 22 mm. from the left side.
