A view of the Thames (reversed) with the Embankment in the foreground, drawn from windows of No. 8 Adelphi Terrace. From left to right we see the Charing Cross Railway Bridge, Lion Brewery, Shot Tower, Waterloo Bridge, and several chimneys and spires. In the foreground, towards the right is Cleopatra's Needle, partly hidden by a tree. Very unfinished, chiefly in outline. Before any of the towers and chimneys that rise above this bridge to right of Cleopatra's Needle.
