Photo postcard of Sandy Beach bathing scene

Black-and-white photo postcard depicting a scene with approximately 25 people enjoying recreational swimming and bathing at the freshwater pond of Sandy Beach, Hopkinton, MA. The cameraman is positioned well behind the figures near the entrance to the beach, and all of them are darkly silhouetted, but it can be seen that several families with many children among them are present. Towels are laid out on the beach, and a few people are sunbathing on or near them. A dead trunk of a small tree has been planted vertically in the sand. The caption of the photo reads "Sandy Island Bathing Beach, Hopkinton, Mass." The back of the postcard makes no reference to the photo, instead providing a generic blurb about the early history of Hopkinton. The card has not been filled out or mailed.

Portrait of young woman, probably in her 20s or early 30s, against an abstract cloud-like studio background. Face front portrait. Hair is pulled back, but full and fluffed up in front. Slight smile on face. Wearing high-necked dark blouse with starburst pin. Over her blouse is a cross-over V-neck sweater, and over that is a light-colored, puffed shoulder sweater. Trim on blouse and other garments all match. Subject's name handwritten on back of mounting card.

Side of bank building after fire, January 1941

Photo of aftermath of a fire at the so-called Bank Building. The photo depicts the Hopkinton National Bank and a portion of Crockett's Pharmacy. The bank was a one-story building annexed to the three-story Masonic Hall building. An alcove from the upper portion of the three-story building has broken off from fire damage and rests on the roof of the bank. Most windows are broken and icicles have formed. Piles of snow are visible in the street. Photographer titled photo as "Bank Building". The bank was a one-story annex to the three-story Masonic Hall. The building was located on the north side of Main Street immediately west of Cedar Street. A gas station is now located there.
