Petition Endorsing the Appeal to President Herbert Hoover by the National Unemployment League

May 15 1930 Honorable Herbert Hoover, President, Washington, D. C. We, the undersigned, duly mindful that much was ac- complished by the conferences of business leaders called by you at Washington last November, yet gravely concerned by the slow recovery of business in general, believe that the present situation requires action by the Federal Government, especially in the field of further expansion of public works to stabilize business and to relieve the unemployed. In support of this belief, we have endorsed the State- ment and Appeal to the President and Congress adopted by the National Unemployment League on March 7th last, and we earnestly for 31 in the next week if possible - to meet a delegation in order that request that an appointment be made - at your convenience, with- the signed Appeals and Resolutions may be presented to you per- sonally, and for the purpose of stating briefly what steps we feel should be taken at this time by the Federal Government.
