9:45 AM
CORCORAN contacted Mr. LEVIS at Toledo, Ohio, through Operator 30.
LEVIS said he had received a copy of the Cincinnati fellow's recommenda-
tion for board certification. CORCORAN has seen this and he said it
still has to pass the board. The decision is in the teeth of a decision
by the Board (WLB) in the Continental Oil case. CORCORAN said the
local board would uphold Cincinnati decision by 2 to 1. CORCORAN also
said he had Alton (Illinois) on the agenda for today. CORCORAN said he
could not go into the Streeter (Illinois) protest as he had promised
to lay off if he received a 2 to 1 decision, but he will try to stall
off for 2 or 3 weeks.
9:53 AM
TIM MOONEY to BILL YOUNGMAN. TIM represents a Toledo firm constructing
machines at $55,000 each for Russian Purchasing Commission. TIM said
the Army and Navy cancelled but Russian Purchasing Commission will pay.
YOUNGMAN said that the Russian credit is good and he recommended that
the company complete the orders.

CORCORAN to EDDIE HIGGINS, in Senator GREEN'S office (R. I.) at the
Capitol. HIGGINS said he has not heard anything from his friend
(KRUG's secretary at W.P.B. ?) and has not had an opportunity to
contact this friend yet. CORCORAN said he wanted American Inca too.
HIGGINS will let him know.
10:28 AM
CORCORAN to JIM CLEMENTS, in Senator PEPPER's office. CORCORAN said
he had handled the Harvard matter (see yesterday's summary) by turning
it over to NASON and YOUNGMAN, both Harvard men. CORCORAN also said
that CLEMENTS should send a copy of PEPPER's message to PRICHARD, in
addition to the three parties to whom CLEMENTS has already sent it.
10:55 AM
MR. REILLY (GERARD REILLY at W.L.B. ?) returned CORCORAN's call.
CORCORAN told him of a call received from LEVIS of Toledo. REILLY
said fine and told CORCORAN that no exceptions were filed in the Alton
matter.
11:13 AM
CORCORAN to GEORGE McNULTY, St. Louis, Jefferson 1257. CORCORAN said
the A. F. of L. had filed a vigorous protest on the Streeter, Illinois,
matter this morning; that the Alton decision was handed down this
morning. CORCORAN mentioned that probably McNULTY would want to call
his "friend in the Tennessee mountains. CORCORAN wants MCNULTY
to
stall the regional W.L.B. director on the Streeter affair by claiming
he's the new counsel and needs a couple of weeks to study the matter.
11:52 AM
CORCORAN to WORTH CLARK, re HURLEY matter. CLARK is leaving on the
2 o'clock train for New York and he has the thing straightened out
with TIM MOONEY. MOONEY will be at the Waldorf. HURLEY is leaving

the guys at TIM's suite at the Waldorf at 10:00 A.M. tomorrow. CORCORAN
