Situation in Brief GROUND Strong enemy pressure has been felt throughout the eastern sector with the 3d and 8th ROK Divisions forced to withdraw at one point from 600 to 2,000 yards. Along the north and center sectors of the front lines, Navy aircraft from the SICILY hit enemy attacks on friendly positions and forced the enemy to take cover. Harassing, interdiction, neutralization, and individual target fire from the HAMNER off Pohang and from the ENDICOTT off the south coast helped relieve the strong enemy pressure in those sectors and Navy air and surface forces patrolled Korean and Formosan waters around the clock.
