1. Weather:
Korean weather on 2 March was clear, or had only scattered
low clouds, except in the central mountain areas where there were OC-
casional low broken clouds with light snow showers. Visibility was 10
miles except in snow showers. Battle area temperatures were between
10 and 30 degrees F. Forecast for 3 March: Clear skies or only scat-
tered low and middle clouds, with occasional light snow showers in the
central mountain area. Visibility 10 miles, lowering to 5 in snow showers.
Battle area temperatures will be between 5 and 22 degrees F. (FEAF)

2. United Nations Situation:
GROUND
a. U.S. Eighth Army: Corps boundaries have been changed as
follows: The boundary between the U.S. IX and U.S. X Corps has been
changed to a general line running north from Mokkye to 1 1/2 miles
southeast of Michon, to 3 miles due east of Wonju, north to Chonchon,
Hill 636, Hill 887, and Hill 683. (FECOM)(SECRET)
b. U.S. I Corps: 3d U.S. Infantry Division: Patrols probing
along the north bank of the Han River from Seoul to 10 miles northeast of
the city were repulsed by the enemy. 25th U.S. Infantry Division: Divi-
sion artillery fired on an enemy troop concentration in a general area
near the confluence of the Pukhan-Han Rivers inflicting losses estimated
at 230 killed and 350 wounded. (FECOM)(SECRET)
C. U.S. IX Corps: 24th U.S. Infantry Division maintained
positions and patrolled with minor enemy contact. 1st U.S. Cavalry
Division: Elements of the 5th U.S. Cavalry Regiment seized an objective
7 miles northeast of Chipyong inflicting an estimated 180 casualties. 8th
U.S. Cavalry Regiment continued in position and patrolled without signi-
ficant enemy contact. The 27th British Commonwealth Brigade success-
fully launched limited objective attacks against moderate resistance.
6th ROK Division: 2d ROK Regiment repulsed a counterattack launched
by 2 CCF companies. The 19th ROK Regiment is heavily engaged with
an undetermined number of enemy troops 9 miles northeast of Chipyong.
