1. Weather:
Generally clear becoming broken high and occasionally broken
middle clouds. Visibility 8 to 10 miles. Temperatures 41 to 63 degrees
F. Forecast: Overcast high and middle clouds, with bases at 3000,
tops at 20,000 with rain. Visibility 3 to 5 miles in rain and haze, tem-
peratures 45 to 58 degrees F. (FEAF) (SECRET)
2. Enemy Situation:
Hostile activity continued aggressive across the front, with pene-
trations reported in the 1st, 6th, and 5th ROK Division sectors. Deep-
est penetration was in the 6th ROK Division zone, where friendly units
were in new positions near Kapyong, approximately 10 miles south of the
38th parallel. (FECOM) (SECRET)
3. United Nations Situation:
GROUND
a. General: Eighth Army units withdrew to new positions in
the central and west central sectors of the front and contained enemy
attacks in other sectors. A friendly counterattack destroyed an enemy
battalion penetration in the I US Corps front. UN right flank units main-
tained positions without significant contact. (FECOM) (SECRET)
b. I US Corps: In the 1st ROK Division sector, an enemy
battalion penetrated between the 11th and 12th ROK Regiments south of the
Imjin River. The 15th ROK Regiment is en route to counterattack the
