1. Weather:
Scattered high, middle, and low clouds with low clouds becoming
broken over west coast. Visibility 10 miles. Temperatures 66 to 80
degrees F. Forecast: Increasing high and middle clouds becoming broken
to overcast over all Korea. Visibility 6 to 8 miles. Temperatures 63 to
78 degrees F. (FEAF) (SECRET)
2. Enemy Situation:
Platoon size enemy groups attacked friendly positions near Kumhwa
and larger groups forced a slight friendly withdrawal 14 miles east of the
town. Moderate to heavy small arms, mortar, and artillery fire was
received in the I US Corps sector. Hostile resistance was light in the
east - central and eastern sectors. Air observed 2265 enemy vehicles,
of which 1080 were southbound. (FECOM) (SECRET)
3. United Nations Situation:
GROUND
a. General: Friendly combat patrols continued to range for-
ward of front lines and along the Munsan-Kaesong road on the west flank.
Enemy attacks in the vicinity of Kumhwa were repulsed. (FECOM) (SECRET)
