1. Weather:
Weather restricted operations for period 21 to 22 November. Multi-
layered clouds to 18, 000 feet becoming scattered low clouds during end of
period. Visibility improved to unlimited from one to two miles in rain.
Forecast: Clear, with occasional scattered low clouds throughout Korea
except for occasional scattered low clouds along the east coast. (FEAF)

2. Enemy Situation:
Action increased in the western sector early in the period as the enemy
launched a series of company- and battalion-strength attacks against UN posi-
tions, forcing some OP elements to withdraw to the MLR. Activity decreased
somewhat in this sector as the period closed. Elsewhere, platoon- and
company-size groups continued to probe UN positions and to engage in patrol
clashes. The adjusted total of vehicle sightings for 20-22 November is 4, 680,
of which 3, 051 were southbound. (FECOM) (SECRET)
3. United Nations Situation:
ARMY:
a. General: Elements of the 9th ROK Division, attacking northwest of
Chorwon, were unable to gain against stubborn resistance from enemy company-
size groups. UN patrols continued to probe enemy defensive positions and en-
gaged numerous squad- to battalion-size groups in daily patrol clashes. The
3d US Infantry Division assumed responsibility for the sector of the 1st US
Cavalry Division northwest of Yonchon in the I US Corps sector at 201102(KT)
In the X US Corps, the 7th ROK Division relieved the 8th ROK Division on the
Corps left flank at 200800(KT). The 3d ROK Division has been relieved in the
center of the X US Corps sector by elements of the 7th US Infantry Division
and the 1st US Marine Division. (FECOM) (SECRET)
