1. Weather:
Thin broken middle and high clouds over all Korea. Visibility un-
restricted. Maximum battle area temperature 25 degrees, minimum 5
degrees. Forecast: Scattered low and middle clouds, remaining clear.
Visibility unrestricted. Maximum battle area temperature 30 degrees,
minimum 5 degrees. (FEAF) (SECRET)
2. Enemy Situation:
A number of enemy groups to company-size launched probing at-
tacks against UN positions in the east-central and east sectors during the
first two days of the period. No probing attacks were reported across
the front on the third day of the period. Scattered opposition to UN pa-
trols by enemy groups to company-size continued, with most numerous
and heaviest clashes in the east-central and least sectors. Enemy activity
was very limited across the front from the vicinity of Kumhwa west and
south to the Han River Estuary. Enemy artillery and mortar fire fell in
several sectors. During the night of 31 January 9070 1 February, ground ob-
servers sighted two enemy tanks in the eastern sector. On 2 February, a
total of eight unidentified aircraft attacked UN positions near Kumsong.
The adjusted total of vehicle sightings for 31 January - 3 February is 3,993,
of which 2, 397 were southbound. (FECOM) (SECRET)
