1. Weather:
During the passage of a. cold front, weather consisted of multilayered
clouds with ceilings lowering to 1,000 feet. Visibility 1-3 miles in rain.
About 8 hours of light rain and snow fell at most bases. Maximum tempera-
ture 34 degrees, minimum 20 degrees. Forecast: Occasional scattered
low clouds expected over all Korea. Maximum temperature 28 degrees,
minimum 13 degrees. (FEAF) (SECRET)
2. Enemy Situation:
Enemy activity during the period was characterized by an increased
number of generally light probing attacks in the western sector and a number
of somewhat heavier attacks in the east-central sector. Enemy groups up
to reinforced company strength were engaged in these actions. A number
of groups, up to two-squad strength, fired on friendly positions across the
front. Light mortar and artillery fire was received in several Divisions in
the west and central sectors; moderate mortar and artillery fire fell in one
Division in the east-central sector. The adjusted total of vehicle sightings
for 10-11 February is 313, of which 218 were southbound. (FECOM) (SECRET)
3. United Nations Situation:
ARMY:
a. General: UN forces repulsed enemy probing attacks in the
west and east-central sectors after several spirited engagements. Across
the remainder of the front, scattered, light patrol clashes were reported.
The Netherlands Battalion was relieved in the line by elements of the 38th
Regiment, 2d US Infantry Division. (FECOM) (SECRET)
