Visibility restricted below three miles in haze and smoke. Maximum battle area temperature 55 degrees, minimum 29 degrees. Forecast: Broken to over- cast with light rain. Visibility restricted to 2 to 4 miles. Maximum battle area temperature 55 degrees, minimum 35 degrees. (FEAF) (SECRET) 2. Enemy Situation: A company-size attack west of Yonchon against the 1st British Common wealth Division and a platoon-size probing attack against the 5th ROK Division near Komisong highlighted enemy activity during the period. Light to moderate mortar and artillery fire fell across the front. The adjusted total of vehicle sightings for 24-25 March is 3, 989, of which 2, 765 were moving south. (FECOM) (SECRET) 3. United Nations Situation: ARMY: a. General: UN forces repulsed probing attacks on the west and least flanks and continued to patrol against scattered enemy resistance. UN artillery fired on personnel targets north of Panmunjom and east of Kumsong. (FECOM) (SECRET) b. I US Corps: 1st US Marine Division artillery fired on 300 enemy troops 2 miles north of Pun-ji, resulting in 200 verified casualties. One hun- dred sixty-eight rounds of enemy mortar and artillery fire fell in the Marine Division sector least of Panmunjom. Elements of the 1st British Commonwealth Division repulsed a company-strength probing attack 12 miles northeast of Panmunjom at 260300 (KT). Division patrols engaged groups of undetermined size. One hundred forty=four rounds of hostile mortar and artillery fire fell in the division sector. Farther northeast, patrols from the 3d US, 45th US, and 9th ROK Divisions engaged squad- to platoon-size groups west and north of Chorwon. (FECOM) (SECRET)
