1. Weather:
Broken high and scattered clouds over all Korea. Forecast: Weather
to remain the same. (FEAF) (SECRET)
2. Enemy Situation:
Hostile activity was limited to squad-size probes north of Yanggu in
the X US Corps sector and light patrol clashes across the front. Mortar and
artillery fire continued light=to-moderate in the western and east-central
sectors. The adjusted total of vehicle sightings for 2-3 April is 2, 807, of
which 1, 667 were southbound. (FECOM) (SECRET)
3. United Nations Situation:
ARMY:
a. General: UN patrols continued to engage groups of up to platoor-
size in patrol clashes across the front. The 2d ROK Division passed to operational
control of the ROK Army at 031500 (KT) April. (FECOM) (SECRET)
b. I US Corps: Patrols from the 3d US and 45th US Divisions engaged
hostile groups of platoon and undetermined size in their respective sectors.
One hundred sixty-six rounds of hostile mortar and artillery fire fell on 3d
US Division positions west of Yonchon. The 1st US Marine, 1st British Common-
wealth, and the 9th ROK Divisions reported no enemy contact. Nine hundred
twenty-four rounds of hostile mortar and artillery fire fell on 1st British
Commonwealth Division positions. (FECOM) (SECRET)
