May 11, 1945 ARCHIVES AND LIMITED SERVICE" u.s. Dear Mary: You don't know how very much I appreciated your good letter of May seventh. I am sure the children must have had a grand time with the new dog and I know they particularly en- joyed the dog house. J.C. is all right. I know where his ship is and there is nothing for you to worry about. I sincerely hope the Japanese unpleasantness will be finished at an early date and all the good boys can come home and enjoy their families once more. I am sending you, for each of the children, an autographed copy of the first speech I made to the Congress. Sincerely yours, Mrs. J. C.
